Celebration of 'International Millets Year' on January 13, 2024

Post Graduate Govt. College, Sector -46,Chandigarh organized one day Seminar to celebrate 'International Millets Year' on January 13, 2024 in collaboration with Aahar Kranti group of Nivedita Trust. Faculty of GCCBA, Sector-50, Chandigarh also participated in this event. Dr. varinder Garg the founder of Nivedita trust was the Keynote Speaker. Event started with formal welcome of Keynote Speaker by college Principal mam Dr. Abha Sudarshan. Then ppt on the benefits of millets on was shown. After that ppt on saptu Sindhu was presented which showcased the importance of our historical excellence. Two Female alumni of the college were also honored by the Trust for their achievements. At the end of the event formal vote of thanks was given by Ms. Jyoti, Co-Ordinator of the event.

‘Redressal Cell of Differently Abled Students’ of the
Post Graduate Govt. College, Sector-46 organized an Awareness Lecture and UDID
Camp in association with Social Welfare Department, Chandigarh in the college
campus on October 3, 2023. Madam Principal Dr. Abha Sudarshan welcomed the
guests with her warm words. Ms. Jyoti, Convener of the cell, briefed the
audience about the Social Welfare Department before inviting the speaker. One
hour Awareness Lecture was conducted by the Mr. Hitesh Chaudhary from the
Department of Social Welfare, Chandigarh regarding provision of various
services like registration of PwD under Unique Disability ID (UDID) project,
form filling for disability/old age/widow pension, loan schemes run by the
corporations. Madam Prachi from the same department provided information about
the scholarships given to the students from category of scheduled castes.
Lecture was attended by the large number of students and faculty. Camp proved
fruitful as two PwD (Person with Disability) students applied for the UDID card
during the camp. Various students clear their queries regarding scholarship
provided to students of Scheduled Caste category. Dr. Rajesh Chander concluded
the session by proposing vote of thanks.
